SETTLING

Learning to be away from family is the toughest transition for a young child. Going to preschool will be the first time they will be away from their parents for so long. While it is exciting for a few parents, it is also a nerve wrecking situation for many. To make this change easier, we have a specially designed settling zone where we organize interesting activities to keep the atmosphere upbeat for little children. We aim to create an environment that helps in building relationships between the children and teachers to ensure positive outcomes in all areas of learning and growth. It is crucial for them to feel safe, stimulated and happy just like they do at home. This zone also builds the trust of the parents in the preschool and how they be partners with us for the perfect upbringing of their little one. The toddlers are welcomed and involved from the very beginning:

• The teacher ensures that every child’s care is tailored to meet their individual needs so that they can settle into the preschool atmosphere with ease.
• The teachers share information on a regular with the parents about their child’s developmental records and how well he/she is doing in school.

PLAY GROUP (TILL 3 YEARS)

At the age of two, children begin to develop independence and it is the best time to explore their developmental milestones. They begin to experiment and develop self-help skills. +While each child will have his/her learning pace and a different way to comprehend their surroundings. With our Play Group, the little ones take their first step into the world of learning and growth. They are introduced to a more structured day with a stimulating environment that not only spreads positive energy by also makes learning a joyful experience.

Our aim is to enrich every child’s senses and enhance their understanding about the surroundings around them. The teachers carefully implement a dynamic learning system which lays emphasis on active exploration, sensory learning and introduction of new themes.

• This level is suitable for children in the age group between 2 to 2.5 years. The curriculum, group interactions and activities have been designed to help the child build social, emotional, language, cognitive and physical skills.
• A few activities to stimulate their development process include sensory time, story time, free-play, introduction to computers, celebration of festivals & events, art & craft, etc.

Primary Grades

GRADE I, II

With the advancement in time, the millennial generation is always expected to be equipped with the skill of readiness. As the children grow up a little, they move past the basics and are introduced to a well-planned, structured curriculum which will act as a perfect launch pad for grade 1. More emphasis is laid on making academics fun for the children so that, when they enter formal school all their classroom anxieties remain at bay. The life skills they gain during this age make them balanced and responsible model citizens with perfect moral values who are also analytical enough to successfully deal with spontaneous situations of life.

This level is suitable for children in the age group between 6 to 8 years. (Children of 6+ years of age as on 31st March). The child in this level is nurtured within the framework of a designed curriculum.

The focus remains on academic progress along with the honing of life skills.

THEME BASED LEARNING

To lay a solid foundation among the children, meaning learning is extremely pivotal in today’s time. A scientifically designed systematic learning process will ultimately provide a strong foundation of knowledge catering to all developmental stages of the toddlers. Many researches by experts across the world suggest that integrating a particular subject matter across different content areas, such as language, math and science, engages the whole brain through active and hands-on involvement.

This is why; we at Aekaksh School actively follow the thematic learning approach. Under Theme based learning, we set a theme for the month which the children can relate to in the real world. Themes help us to intertwine the different methodologies which make the learning experience interesting and meaningful for them. Rather than teaching each skill or topic in isolation we take up a special theme that acts as an umbrella of a larger topic under which all major aspects of academics are covered. It gives the teachers the flexibility to follow the interests of the students and mould their teaching styles accordingly.

Teaching with themes also addresses the fact that children learn best through play, active exploration of their environment, and thoughtfully planned activities in each term. Our team of experts have built themes for every grade based on the interests of little learners, while teaching age appropriate skills. Aekaksh has also ensured that all the themes:

• Are stimulating, meaningful and fun-filled.
• Support free play and exploration through books, dramatization, puzzles, outdoor activities, etc.
• Nurture the natural curiosity and enthusiasm of childhood.
• Promote children’s knowledge and skills.

LET’S GO OUT & EXPLORE

They say, ‘The more you learn, the more places you go!’, but, at Aekaksh we believe in doing the latter first. As a part of ‘Let’s go out & explore’ theme, we take the learning outside the four walls of the classroom and fill their schedules with a plethora of outdoor activities.

Academics

Aekaksh School prides Conceptual and Experiential Learning in the Lap of Nature through a UNIQUE Knowledge Park to learn the concepts of Mathematics, Science and Geography. Learning happens through hands on experience in the classrooms, Green areas and in the structured labs. Students explore, investigate, observe, predict and infer, and they understand “What, Why and How’ about the phenomena and things around them. In the process, rote learning is minimized.

Kindergarten

THE EARLY YEARS OF A CHILD'S LIFE CONSTITUTE THE MOST SIGNIFICANT PERIOD IN LIFE, BECAUSE THIS IS THE STAGE WHEN A SOUND FOUNDATION IS LAID FOR THE OVERALL DEVELOPMENT OF THE INDIVIDUAL.

Children are active and curious learners from birth, able to lead their own learning within the context of close and supportive responsive adults. The preschool age is the most impressionable age in one’s life. The rate of development at this stage is more rapid since 50% of a child’s brain develops in the first four years. To aid their development to the fullest, the pedagogy for children is specialised with the following:

CHILD-CENTRIC APPROACH

No one understands children like we do. We certainly know that the formative years of a child’s life are of utmost importance for development, which is why at Aekaksh our child-centric approach ensures the perfect holistic development at this tender age. We let children ‘Be’ themselves. They are given the freedom to take their own decisions, discover their own areas of interest and dwell smoothly with the learning process!

PERFECT EXPOSURE

At Aekaksh School, Hyderabad, we not only believe in imparting education of different concepts but also emphasize on inculcating life skills. The teachers nurture the talents of our tiny tots by giving them the perfect exposure through physical activities, stage programmes, music, dance, art and craft. I-CAN

Another major area of focus for laying a sound foundation for students is to ensure development of positive-self-concept. The children during all times must know that, ‘I-CAN’ is always more powerful than ‘IQ’. They are nurtured in such a way that they can feel competent to do anything they want independently and adequately.
